Environmental Compliance Specialist

Duration: 1-Year Contract
Summary:
Seeking an Environmental Compliance Specialist to support construction projects by integrating environmental requirements into planning, design, and execution. The role involves interpreting environmental standards, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with regulations and project-specific plans. Flexibility for extended work hours, weekends, or night shifts may be required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise project teams on environmental requirements to ensure compliance in planning, design, and construction.
- Draft and implement Environmental Compliance Plans, including mitigation strategies (e.g., stormwater and spill prevention plans).
- Conduct compliance inspections and address non-conformances promptly.
- Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and regulatory agencies to align environmental goals.
- Support investigations of environmental incidents and maintain preventive controls.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and best practices in environmental management.
Qualifications:
- Expertise in environmental management, monitoring, and mitigation, particularly for heavy civil or industrial construction.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations, permitting, and compliance inspection during construction.
- Degree in environmental science, engineering, or related field (or 8+ years relevant experience).
- Proficient in oral/written communication and computer applications.
- Physically capable of conducting field inspections in construction environments, including walking, climbing, and wearing PPE as needed.
